V2 "Softie" Ovo Head Kit (Sold Individually)

 The Ovo Head System - New V2 "Softie" Variant

Ovo V2 "Softies" are the new standard for our soft-props at Lanternsmith, prioritizing a softer impact than V1, and a longer lifespan of heavy use. They're made from a supple and durable silicone rubber. After months of torture testing, we've come to believe that they're nearly indestructible and make an excellent daily driver over hard surfaces such as pavement.

2 inch (50mm) diameter X 4 inch (100mm) length - Ovo heads are designed to be a solid low-profile head for poi, ropedarts, and meteors. They are aerodynamically optimal for long tether lengths where the head travels very fast and energy conservation is a high priority (as in Oxbow meteors).

V2 heads are not available in clear. For a transparent head, we will continue to offer the V1 "Clear" in the dropdown menu above. 

Core & Mass Options

Kit includes Ovo style head with the option of the shell only (NO weight or attachment points), Umoja Cartridge System, or Coreless "Ultrasoft" with adjustable weight. 

While all color options are V2 Ovos, each core option has it's own features. 

Coreless heads are even softer (less painful) than Cartridge heads, and are adjustable by weight up to 170g - a very popular mass that Lanternsmith has found to be the optimal balance of energy retention and control in all modes of play.

The Cartridge heads are harder and are adjustable by weight from where the Coreless design stops, 170g, up to 230g, which is useful for simulating the mass of fire-hammers. 

The Coreless option has also been found to further improve durability. 

Coreless has only been proven with 1/4" Smithy Rope. Tether diameter must be .25" (6.5mm) or less.
